Solar Energy Incentives & Credits
Over the last few years, the Federal and State Governments of the United States have began to make the purchase of Solar Energy Technology easier and more cost-effective. They have begun to implement a number of Solar Energy Incentives, Credits, and Rebates, and even more recently they have expanded the coverage of these incentives and increased their amounts.

A great source for information on Solar Energy Incentives is StateSolarIncentives.net.The State Solar Incentives database contains a comprehensive list of all incentives, credits, and rebates that are available in each state in the United States, as well as the Federal Incentives that are available.

The Federal Incentive for Solar Energy Technology is the standard of the site (each state’s incentives vary) and is:
 
Incentive Type : Personal Tax Credit
Eligible Systems : Solar Hot Water, Solar Electric
Applicable Sectors : Residential
Credit Amount : 30% of Total System Cost
Max Credit Allowed : UNCAPPED AS OF 2/2009
Requirements : SRCC Certified Products Only
